The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) is proud to recognize Stephen Turley of Huber Heights, Ohio, who drives for I Supply Company/Parisi Transportation of Fairborn, Ohio.

On October 5, 2012, an anonymous woman called I Supply Company stating that she had been driving behind Turley’s truck when he stopped at a red light. Because she was distracted, the woman had nearly hit Turley. The extremely close call was too much for the woman, who was so shaken up that she had to pull over to compose herself. Turley stopped, got out of his truck, and asked if the woman was okay. He expressed sincere concern for her well-being and made sure she was okay before moving on.

The woman wanted the company to know how grateful she was for Turley’s conduct. She stated that most drivers would have just kept on going, and she was appreciative of Turley’s professionalism and efforts to check up on her.

Shawn Rehs, transportation lead supervisor at I Supply Company/Parisi Transportation and the person who nominated Turley as a Highway Angel, said, “Though it is rare to receive a call from an anonymous person stating such favorable comments, it is not a surprise that it would involve Steve Turley. Steve continues to be an outstanding employee and delivery driver with over 16 years of dedication to [our company].”

For his efforts to help the woman, Turley has received a Highway Angel lapel pin, certificate, and patch. I Supply Company/Parisi Transportation also received a certificate acknowledging that one of its drivers is a Highway Angel.

The Highway Angel program is sponsored for TCA by Internet Truckstop. Since the program’s inception in August 1997, hundreds of drivers have been recognized as Highway Angels for the unusual kindness, courtesy, and courage they have shown others while on the job. TCA has received letters and e-mails from people across North America nominating truck drivers for the program.
